Kennedy started out her cheer season with a bang! First stunt, trip to the emergency room, pulled tendon, out for 6 weeks. I should have taken pictures when the doctor told her she couldn't do any stunting for 6 weeks. Her team is preparing for competition and she is a base (she lifts one of the other girls). What did the doc say about lifting? Oh well, hopefully there will be more cheering pics to come.

I love creating my own backgrounds using My Digital Studio. I also created the background for the baseball page I did of my grandson, Drew, below. It is so easy to customize your backgrounds using this program. I used a photo I had taken while at the Louisville Zoo of a couple of giraffes. After I uploaded the pic to my MDS, I reduced the opacity to 50%. It really is that simple. Here is the finished product.

I loved doing this page because I absolutely love the photo of my daughter and granddaughter. This was taken at my Dad's 93rd birthday/reunion. Has to be one of my favorites...perhaps because of its simplicity.
But, being the anal retentive person that I am...I had to redo it to my satisfaction. I guess I will leave it alone now with my realignments :)
Oops, no, still don't like it. I'm so glad that I can make these changes so simply and so quickly. Once I am satisfied (will I ever be) I will have it printed and then add 3-D embellishments (hybrid scrapbooking). Here is my last, I promise, version.
Let me know which one you like best.

This is our 4th year and hopefully we will have many more celebrations. Our family gets bigger every year and this year was no exception. If we ever invite the extended family to one of these I'll have to get a professional photographer to get us all in to one shot. Just herding everyone into this picture was some feat. Still, we had a great time and it is so wonderful to have everyone together again.
For some reason, this was really a challenge for me. I dunno why, just was.

I was cleaning out my old digital photos to lessen the load on my computer and came across some older photos that I didn't scrap. Why? Too busy I guess. Anyway, the next two posts are the two I've done so far.
This is my grandson when he was in high school (he's now getting ready to graduate college :( ) I made the background paper using another photo.

Yeah, I can't scrap my cats without scrapping my favorite pet, my dog Bailey. Bailey has come through a very hard year and at 10 years of age we thought we were going to lose him. He went from 110 lbs. to 87.5 in a year. I'm not sure why he is suddenly doing better but I pray it continues for a lot more years :)
Here's my big guy with my other big guy...

Here we go with another challenge. This time the challenge was to use 1 picture, 3 brads, 3 punches, 3 Designer Papers, 2 colors of cardstock, 2 stamp sets, and a title using one of the 2 stamp sets. Whew! Didn't spend too much time on this one or I think I could have done a better job with the colors. Anyway, here it is...
After looking at it I decided to change it up and add pics of my other 2 kitties. I like this better even if I'm not crazy about the colors.
Thanks for stopping by :) Katherine

I felt sort of sad as I started scrapping these pics from the past couple of years of Drew's baseball at the University of Transylvania. He is now a senior and this will be his last year of baseball. I have followed his play from t-ball at 4 years of age through b-ball at the age of 21. Where has the time gone :( I can still remember my mom having t-shirts made with Drew's t-ball #10 on the back with his name. She had them made for me, his mom, and herself and we wore them to all of his games. She followed him too as he played through little league. She only stopped when she was called home to be with our Lord in January of 1999. I like to think she continues to follow us all.

Catching up with my scrapbooking is so much fun. I was working on my "It's All About Me" pages but it's so much more fun to scrap my grandbabies. Well, they are not much babies in the physical sense but they will always be my "babies."
I was so proud of my sweet Emi during her high school freshmen team tournament. She played well, scoring lots of points and helping make points on most plays. In this tournament they won the gold and it was Emi's final spike that won it. I love watching my #10 play...

I wanted to keep posting as I add pages to my, "It's All About Me" scrapbook. It's a slow work in progress but I am determined to keep at it. This was the last of the pages, bad I know, but will get back to work on it soon, I hope.
...and, of course, pink and black are my favorite colors for a season :)

An Update: It's a winner! That's right, I won the challenge and a prize of digital add-ons for my MDS. Wow, was I shocked. It's very motivating and I've been scrappin' daily since...
As a working demonstrator, I never found enough time to participate in creative challenges. In this case it was a design challenge, a black and white placement layout. You get to choose papers, inks, embellishments, and of course, your photos. I'm pretty sure this won't win anything because there are so many talented ladies involved, but I had fun doing it and it has inspired me to start scrapping again. Here is the challenge and my entry.
Constructive criticism welcome :)

March will bring a continuation of the Glitter Girls, It's All About Me..., scrapbook pages.
This month we'll be doing our family tree...Growing Up...We spend so much time scrapping our kids, grandkids, and other family members we forget that we are important to our family history too.
Won't it be nice for our great-grandchildren to know something more about us than just what we looked like?

I couldn't stop at cards and gifts this Halloween. Where would I put all of those cute pictures of my little grandgoblins? This was so much fun to make.
Front Cover When you first open Fully Open Inside front/back of album
Now, I just have to catch my goblins on the 31st long enough to snap some pictures for my album and it's ready to go. I may have to make some more of these for Christmas, maybe one for each of my lovelies.

It's never hard to find a good subject to scrap. I love my family and my grandchildren are never overlooked when it comes to my scrapbook pages. With all these great scrapbooks about their lives, they will have plenty of memories to share with their children and grandchildren some day. But, what will they say about me...
that's why I decided it was finally time to do a scrapbook about myself. In fact, my scrapbooking clubs are joining me on this venture and we are going to tell the story about us, or "me."

This page was June's scrapbook page. I love this stamp set and wheel. I rolled the background with the Symphony jumbo wheel in Creamy Caramel on Creamy Caramel cardstock. I used Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Creamy Caramel cardstock for this page.
I want to give credit to my paperfriend, Norma, for adding the paper under the buttons. I had originally left that off of my page but it looked so good on hers that I had to add it to mine :) Thanks Norma!

I love our time at the pumpkin patch every year. Unfortunately, the girls are getting far less interested in going, even little Madie! Can't you tell by the expression of indifference? Oh well, I'm going to keep pushing the idea and hope they go, if only for Nana and Poppy.
This is the scrapbook page for the month of October. Every month I will post the page(s) that will be featured in my clubs and classes for the month.
I used the stamp set, Autumn Harvest, and Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Old Olive cardstock with Bordering Blue for the flower accents to create this 12" x 12" page. I confess that I am in love with the little dew drops, The Robin' s Nest dew drops add a little cute and, what I like to call, "soft bling."

This is a picture of my middle granddaughter and only child of my youngest daughter. The title for this page suits her to a tee.
I have been going through a lot of professionally photographed pictures that are in my older albums. I love the photos but I thought that scrapping them would make them much more interesting. After finishing this page, I'm sure that I'm right and so will be working on many more.
On this page I used the stamp set Flower Fancy (#111578) and embossed the flower outline with clear embossing powder (#109130). You will see this more clearly if you open up the larger view of the photo. It doesn't show up nearly as well in this photo. Then, I used a white gel pen (#105021) to highlight the center of the embossed flowers.
You can order these and other products at my "Online" store at: www.paperfriendzy.stampinup.net

Creating pages of my grandbabies is always such a treat for me. This is my oldest granddaughter Emily, 13-years-old, and a volleyball player for her middle school.
I especially enjoyed playing with my new Sizzix Big Shot. I used the Swirly border and it was just the perfect fit. I just can't avoid putting those precious felt flower and bling anywhere I can. I can't even do that when I'm making my guy cards and scrapbook pages. Oh well, it's supposed to reflect a little something of myself so they'll just have to live with it!
Check out the new Sizzix Big Shot and great dies created to coordinate with our stamps. You won't find them anywhere else. The great thing about the big shot too, it will take any other brand of dies. I'm lovin' it. Check it out here.

"We, the sisterhood"...it's all about the girls!
Although a club project, it means a lot more to me. "The Sisterhood" was organized when my oldest daughter was a young teen. Now the granddaughters are also members of the sisterhood and we celebrate and console each other as the the occasion fits. This was a celebration. Kennedy, shaving her legs for the first time, was in celebration of the life changes to come.
When we formed the sisterhood, we each received a bracelet with a sister charm. Each event is commemorated with lots of love and sometimes sympathy. One thing is for sure, we support one another through thick and thin and we know that we can come to one another with any problem, no matter how big or how small.

This will be the scrapbook page we are doing tomorrow at the Glitter Girls Club meeting. If you'd like to join a scrapbook class, I am currently taking names for my first Monday evening club and my 2nd Saturday morning club. Now is the time to sign up to scrap all of those summer vacation pictures and maybe catch up on some you've been meaning to do.
The photos on this page were the result of a fun outing to Henry Clay's home, Ashland. It turned out that the house was closed on Monday's so we took a tour of the gardens instead. What a maze of beautiful blooms, but none as beautiful as these three :)
If you're one of the Glitter Girls, I worked from 3 4"x6" photos to create this page and the major colors I used were Glorious Green, Summer Sun, Only Orange, and Pink Passion.

It is nice to be back in my workshop finishing up some projects I started and starting some new ones. Gotta keep movin' :)
Actually, here is the 2nd page of my 2-page spread that I started in June. I would have had it done sooner but it took a couple of weeks to get back the girls final projects. Here are both pages, completed. YEAH!
One of these days I'm going to start stiching my spreads together so you can get the best effect.

You can see from the bright colors on this page that I'm feelin' the summer. I know SU! calls these colors Bold Brights but I call them my summer colors. I'm just somehow drawn to these bold colors during the warm summer months.
The Glitter Girls will be making this page this weekend along with the summery card I call Apple Tree Birthday above.
I have room for more people in my scrapbook classes on Monday evening and Saturday morning, once a month. Call me if you'd like to join me for some summery scrapbooking and rubber stamping fun.

I've had this photo of Emily since this winter and wanted to make sure that the page was special. Well, to me it's special anyway. I used the large white flower from the Pretties Kit and dyed it using my stamp pad. After I got it good and soaked with color, I rinsed it and allowed it to dry. I was afraid to rinse it too much but think I could have done it even a bit more if I had wanted to. Try this yourself or come to a class and play with the rest of us stampers and scrappers :)
Registration for classes will soon be available online. Come back soon.

I just love these kits and I know you will too. You can finish off your pictures in a flash and finally start making a dent in that photo box you've been meaning to scrap. I made this page with the same Scrappin' Kit materials that I used for Maddie's Tee Time below and I still have more materials to work with.
These are so easy to use and everything you need is right there in the package. Everything is high-quality and beautiful. The only thing that wasn't in the kit on this page was the ribbon and I stamped Dare to be Fabulous above Kennedy's photo. I could do these all day.

Love scrapping and enjoy doing it with others, ask me about Srappin' Saturdays or Monday Evening Scrappin' classes. There's no better time than now to start catching up on scrapping your memories.
Don't have a lot of spare time and running thin on your creative juices? SU! makes scrapbooking a snap and fun, too. This 2-page spread was made using the Summer Days, Simply Scrappin' Kit. There are so many options with these kits and after completing this spread I still had bundles of paper and supplies to make much more. Check out the online catalog to the right to pick your favorite design. You can order these kits by emailing or calling.

This is the 12 x 12 scrapbook page for my 3rd Saturday Hostess Club. This is one of the 3 projects we will be putting together. If your a member of this club you may just get a great chance to take some "Snow Day" pictures, if you don't already have one. We are supposed to be getting bad weather tonight which may mean a snow day tomorrow. Get out your camera and take some snaps for this fun winter layout. For this layout I used a 4" x 6" photo. The colors we'll be using are Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink, and Tempting Turquoise.

I am really enjoying going back through all of my 8" x 10" photos of the grandchildren and making pages of each of them. In some instances I've been able to find smaller photos that will work with the larger ones, but in this case I just wanted to showcase one of our starlet granddaughters, Kennedy. I was going through some old family pictures and came across this one of my girls, Kelly and Robin. We had gone to Pidgeon Forge, TN and they saw this little shop where you can dress up and have photos made. What a blast from the past :) Kelly is on the left and Robin on the right. They will probably kill me when they find out this made it to my blog and to friends on the Internet. Oh well, they'll just have to get over it if they want the pages I made for their children's scrapbooks. I really pondered over adding something more to this, ribbon, etc., but decided that I like it just the way it is. I did add their names and the year. That's about it for my idea of journaling. I've got to overcome that little challenge.
I used 12" x 12" Chocolate Chip for the background. I didn't layer over the Rose Red and Cameo Coral. Instead, I cut out the centers of a 12" x 12" Rose Red and Cameo Coral to make frames. The Cameo Coral a 1" frame and the Rose Red a 1/2" frame. It was really easy to do on my cutter and I saved quite a bit of paper by not layering the Chocolate Chip over them.
Hope you enjoy!
